High Inergy - Let Me Get Close To You / You Can't Turn Me Off (In The Middle Of Turning Me On)

Description
“Let Me Get Close To You” opens a path into High Inergy’s world, while “You Can't Turn Me Off (In The Middle Of Turning Me On)” brings the story to its irresistible title. On this 1977 Gordy single, catalog number G 7155F, the group meets soul’s expressive vocal tradition with the dance-minded pulse of disco and funk. That blend gives the songs a place in a moment when soul was reaching for the dance floor without letting go of its emotional directness. High Inergy’s name belongs right at the center of that meeting: intimate address, physical rhythm, and the enduring pleasure of soul made for movement.
