Howard Hewett - Once, Twice, Three Times / Last Forever

Description
A 1986 Elektra 7-inch single, numbered 7-69390, brings Howard Hewett together with “Once, Twice, Three Times” and “Last Forever.” Hewett’s smooth R&B sits in the intimate world of Quiet Storm, where soul’s expressive vocals meet a gentler, late-night mood. The titles make a neat pairing: one counts through a moment, the other speaks to lasting devotion, without needing to tell the whole story. Contemporary R&B has always made room for tenderness as well as polish, and this release carries that tradition into the mid-eighties. Its United States pressing anchors the single to a particular place and year, while the songs keep their focus on feeling.
