James Last & His Orchestra - Espana Cani / O' Cangaceiro

Description
“Espana Cani” and “O' Cangaceiro” bring two distinct strands of popular musical tradition together, each carried here by James Last & His Orchestra. The first title belongs to the Spanish pasodoble tradition, where a bold, measured pulse gives the music its ceremonial character; the second points toward the Brazilian cangaço tradition, whose songs carry stories rooted in the country’s Northeast. Last, a German orchestra leader, made instrumental pop his terrain, drawing orchestral color into music made for broad audiences. This Holland-pressed 7-inch single pairs the tracks on Polydor, catalog number 59 261, and sets contrasting cultural references side by side.
