Jean Shepard - I Thought Of You / Beautiful Lies

Description
“I Thought Of You” and “Beautiful Lies” bring two sharply contrasting thoughts together: one turns toward remembrance, the other toward deception. Jean Shepard gives this country single a place in the tradition of songs that make complicated feelings plain, where a memorable melody and a direct, human story can carry the weight of a whole relationship. Country music has long found its strength in that intimacy: love is rarely simple, and the best songs let tenderness and hurt sit side by side. Issued by Capitol as F3222, this 7-inch single pairs those two titles without smoothing over their difference. Their contrast is the record’s small, telling drama.
