Jeffrey Osborne - Soweto / Love's Not Ready

Description
Disco has always known how to carry a serious subject onto the dance floor without asking it to become lightweight. Jeffrey Osborne brings that tension into focus across this 1986 single: “Soweto” gives the record its first title, while “Love's Not Ready” turns the other way toward a personal phrase. The two names invite different kinds of reflection, held together here on a 7-inch from A&M Records, catalog AM-2863. Disco’s pulse has long made room for both public feeling and private emotion, letting a song move bodies while its title stays with you. That balance is the record’s compelling point of departure.
