Jim Lowe - The Ol' Race Track / Michael J. Pollard For President

Description
“The Ol’ Race Track” puts Jim Lowe at the center of this playful pop pairing, with “Michael J. Pollard For President” waiting on the other side to extend its offbeat spirit. Novelty records have long made room for comic characters, topical turns and the pleasure of a song that doesn’t take itself too seriously; these titles carry that tradition right into their own curious little world. Lowe’s name links the two sides, while their contrasting subjects give the release its particular spark. Issued by Buddah Records as BDA 44, it’s a compact reminder that pop has always had space for a wink alongside its earnest side.
