Jimmie Rodgers - Turnaround / Child Of Clay

Description
A&M Records’ 871 single brings Jimmie Rodgers to the fore with “Turnaround” and “Child Of Clay,” a pair of ballads whose titles hint at stories without giving them away. Rodgers was a pop singer, and the ballad tradition gives a voice room to linger over feeling, letting a song’s words and melody carry the moment. Here, the two titles sit together as distinct songs, inviting listeners to meet Rodgers through the direct, human scale that has long made ballads part of popular music. Their appeal lies in that simple exchange: a singer, a song, and space for the listener to make it personal.
