Jody Watley - Looking For A New Love / Looking For A New Love

Description
Jody Watley brings soul and synth-pop together on “Looking For A New Love,” a meeting of styles rooted in soul’s long welcome for fresh sounds. The genre’s emotional directness has always made room for changing textures and rhythms; here, that tradition connects naturally with electronic music and funk. Watley’s song also holds onto soul’s enduring focus on feeling, giving its title a place in a musical lineage where personal expression and rhythmic invention belong side by side. Released in 1987, this United States 7-inch single carries “Looking For A New Love” on both sides. Mca Records issued it as MCA-52956.
