Joe Simon - The Mirror Don't Lie / Power Of Love

Description
“The Mirror Don't Lie” sets a searching title beside “Power Of Love,” a pairing that gives Joe Simon’s 1972 soul single a quietly compelling shape. Soul has long made room for songs that meet life head-on, balancing vulnerability with conviction, and these titles sit naturally within that tradition. Simon brings the record’s two sides together under the unmistakable language of reflection and devotion, without needing a grand story to make the contrast matter. Issued by Spring Records as SPR 128, this USA pressing belongs to the rich early-1970s stream of American soul, where personal feeling could carry both tenderness and resolve. The titles leave plenty to ponder.
