Joe Tex - King Thaddeus / Rain Go Away

Description
Joe Tex brings the storytelling spirit of soul to a pair of titles that leave room for two different kinds of drama. On “King Thaddeus,” the name itself opens a little stage for a tale; “Rain Go Away” turns toward a familiar plea, the sort of phrase that belongs naturally to soul’s direct, everyday language. Tex was a soul singer, and that tradition has always made a virtue of making a personal feeling feel shared. Issued in 1972 on Dial as D-1018, this United States pressing joins both titles in one telling detail: each gives a simple name or request the weight of a story.
