John & Ernest - Super Fly Meets Shaft / Problems

Description
On Rainy Wednesday Records, John & Ernest turn a playful pop premise into a meeting of two unmistakable screen worlds: “Super Fly Meets Shaft” puts the titles together, while “Problems” gives the single another sharp-edged point of entry. The record’s break-in format draws on the comic art of interrupting and reshaping familiar sounds, with funk, rhythm and blues, and soul all close to its pulse. That blend belongs to a tradition where timing and character matter as much as the groove, and a voice can make a joke land like a hook. RW-201 keeps the encounter compact, vivid, and rooted in pop’s love of reinvention.
