John Silvercloud - Lonely Cowboy / Great American Heroes

Description
John Silvercloud’s 1982 release brings two country-western titles together: “Lonely Cowboy” and “Great American Heroes.” In country music, the cowboy can be both a figure of solitude and a symbol of a wider American story, making those titles a natural pairing without needing to settle what each song says. The tradition has long found room for plainspoken storytelling, open landscapes and characters who carry more than one meaning. This 7-inch single was issued in the USA on Holiday Records, catalog number A.G. 687. Together, the titles leave space for two distinct portraits within country’s enduring mythology of the American West.
