Johnnie Taylor - Just One Moment / "It's September"

Description
“Just One Moment” meets “It's September” on a 1974 soul single by Johnnie Taylor, bringing two song titles together under the easy, expressive umbrella of Southern soul. Taylor was a soul singer, and that tradition gives this release its human scale: songs made to carry feeling through a voice, with the groove close at hand. Issued by Stax Records as STN-0226, this American 7-inch belongs to a period when soul could be direct without feeling slight, balancing intimacy with a strong rhythmic pulse. The pairing invites a small pleasure in contrast: one title asks for a moment, the other marks a season, and both keep the focus on the song.
