Johnny Bristol - Go On And Dream / Love Takes Tears

Description
Mgm Records’ 1975 single pairs Johnny Bristol’s “Go On And Dream” with “Love Takes Tears,” two titles that sit naturally in the tender, polished world of soul. Bristol was a soul singer and songwriter, and that tradition gives these songs their human scale: love is never just a neat resolution, but a feeling shaped by hope, patience and hurt. Philly Soul brought a graceful, carefully arranged sensibility to soul, while smooth soul often leaned into intimacy and emotional clarity. This USA pressing, catalog number M14814, brings those strands together in a compact single, with Bristol’s songwriting at its heart and romance still carrying its complicated weight.
