Johnny Paycheck - Take This Job And Shove It / Slide Off Of Your Satin Sheets

Description
“Take This Job And Shove It” meets “Slide Off Of Your Satin Sheets” on a 1977 single by country singer Johnny Paycheck, pairing two sharply named songs in the rowdy, plainspoken spirit of honky-tonk. The appeal of this tradition lies in its directness: everyday frustrations and tangled affairs become stories you can carry out of the bar and into the day. Here, that frank country attitude is set down on Collectables, 15-2360, pressed in the USA. Paycheck’s name and these vivid titles make a memorable meeting point for traditional country and outlaw country, where a song’s point of view can be as striking as its melody.
