Johnny Russell & Little David Wilkins - I Owe, I Owe (It's Oh To Work I Go) / (Hot Damn Lama) It's Quittin Time

Description
A 1987 7-inch single pairs Johnny Russell & Little David Wilkins on two titles that turn everyday work into country-song material: “I Owe, I Owe (It's Oh To Work I Go)” and “(Hot Damn Lama) It's Quittin Time.” The titles bring a wink to the familiar honky-tonk territory of bills, jobs and the moment the day is done. Novelty songs have long found room in country music, where a sharp phrase can make ordinary frustrations feel ripe for a laugh without losing their roots in working life. Issued by 16Th Avenue as B.70406, this USA pressing keeps that playful tradition close at hand.
