Johnny Russell & Little David Wilkins - Stone Country / Butterbeans

Description
On this 1987 7-inch single, Johnny Russell & Little David Wilkins bring together two titles with the plainspoken appeal of country music: “Stone Country” and “Butterbeans.” The contrast in their names makes a neat pairing, while leaving each song room to stand on its own. Country has long found its character in direct language and familiar details, turning everyday words into memorable song titles; this release sits comfortably in that tradition. Issued by 16Th Avenue Records as B-70401, it offers a concise meeting of two country artists on one small record. The titles are the invitation; the songs themselves hold the conversation.
