Lakeside - From 9:00 Until / All In My Mind

Description
Released in 1979, Lakeside’s Solar single pairs “From 9:00 Until” with “All In My Mind,” bringing two distinct titles together in the late-seventies conversation between funk and disco. The groove-led traditions of funk and soul have always made room for both rhythmic drive and a sense of ease, while disco drew dancers toward a steady pulse and communal movement. That meeting gives this release a vivid place in its era without needing to say more than the titles do. Issued as Solar YB-11931, it is a compact entry from Lakeside, an American funk band, at a moment when dance music was crossing boundaries with confidence.
