Lakeside - Tinsel Town Theory (Aka: The Hollywood Story) / Real Love

Description
Lakeside turn “Tinsel Town Theory (Aka: The Hollywood Story)” into a sharp little tale, drawing on funk’s knack for pairing a strong groove with a knowing point of view. In the early eighties, the style could be polished without losing its pull: bass and rhythm still made room for wit, movement and a touch of soul. The song’s title invites a story, but its place here is in the lively tradition of funk storytelling. “Real Love” follows on the flip, bringing a more tender phrase into the conversation. Issued by Solar as 7-69796 in 1983, this single finds Lakeside working within a tradition where the groove carries the story forward.
