Latimore - Disceed To Death / Just One Step

Description
Disco and soul meet in the groove here. Latimore, a soul singer, brings two titles together on this 1979 Glades single, GLAX-1756: “Disceed To Death” and “Just One Step.” The pairing sits in the late-’70s moment when soul’s expressive vocal tradition found fresh company in disco’s steady dance-floor pulse. That meeting gave records room for both a singer’s phrasing and a groove built to keep moving, without asking one to give way to the other. Latimore’s name anchors the release, while the contrasting titles leave space for a little mystery. It’s a small slice of a lively era in American soul and disco.
