Lee Lamar - Sophia / Teenage Pedal Pushers

Description
Lee Lamar’s 1957 7-inch single pairs “Sophia” with “Teenage Pedal Pushers,” two titles that capture the playful spirit of early rock & roll without needing a lyric to make their mark. The instrumental setting puts the guitar-led tradition of rock’s first wave in focus: concise, direct music built around melody, rhythm and a tune that can speak for itself. Released on Era Records as 45-1041, this record belongs to a moment when rock & roll was finding fresh ways to turn a compact single into a complete musical statement. Lee Lamar’s pairing keeps that lively instrumental tradition firmly in view.
