Lionel Richie - My Love / Round And Round

Description
Issued in 1982 as a Motown 7-inch single, Lionel Richie’s “My Love” and “Round And Round” bring two titles together in the warm, direct language of soul and pop. Richie is a singer-songwriter, and these songs sit comfortably in a tradition where a clear vocal and an intimate address can make a love song feel like a conversation. The pairing also catches the easy kinship between soul and pop: distinct traditions, meeting in melodies made to travel beyond their original setting. With its plainspoken title, “My Love” leads naturally into the circular promise of “Round And Round.” Motown’s catalog number is 1677 MF.
