Los Alegres De Teran - Las Drogas / Las Redadas

Description
Los Alegres De Teran bring the corrido tradition into focus on this 1976 Mexican single, where stories take shape through direct, memorable song. Corridos have long carried tales of people, choices and events in a form made to travel from one voice to another; norteño music gives that storytelling a closely related home. Here the two titles, Las Drogas and Las Redadas, set the scene without needing a shared plot: each stands on its own as a named subject. Issued by Caytronics as CY 8195, this record connects a particular pair of songs to a living tradition of narrative music, where the story is the heart of the song.
