Manhattans - The Closer You Are / Girl Of My Dream

Description
“The Closer You Are” opens a tender conversation about devotion, with the Manhattans bringing soul’s gift for turning a private feeling into something shared. “Girl Of My Dream” carries that romantic thread onward, making the two titles feel like companion thoughts rather than separate declarations. Soul has long made room for this kind of direct, heartfelt love song: clear words, human emotion, and melodies that invite a listener to lean in. Released in 1980 on Columbia as 1-11321, this single finds the Manhattans working within that enduring tradition, where intimacy is not small at all—it is the heart of the song.
