Marilyn Sellars - Gather Me / Gather Me

Description
Marilyn Sellars brings “Gather Me” to both sides of this 1975 single, letting one title carry the whole release. On Mega Records, catalog number MR 1230, it sits at a meeting point between country’s plainspoken storytelling and Countrypolitan’s polished, carefully shaped tradition. That blend has long made room for intimate songs to travel with a fuller, more refined country sensibility, without losing their human scale. Sellars is the artist at the heart of this release, and the repeated title gives the record a distinctive, focused identity. “Gather Me” appears as both Side A and Side B, a simple fact that makes the title impossible to overlook.
