Marty - Grootvaders Klok / Trompet Polka

Description
A little schlager charm goes a long way. Marty brings two Dutch-titled pieces together on this Decca single, with “Grootvaders Klok” on the A-side and “Trompet Polka” on the flip. Schlager has long made room for memorable melodies and an easy, sociable spirit, drawing on the pleasures of popular song and dance music without asking listeners to leave the tune behind. These titles offer a glimpse of that tradition in miniature: a familiar song form beside a polka, both named plainly and invitingly. Issued in Holland as Decca AT 10 417, this 7-inch keeps the focus on the enduring appeal of a good tune.
