Marv Dennis - Elizabeth Ray (Queen Of The Day) / Teaser

Description
“Elizabeth Ray (Queen Of The Day)” meets “Teaser” on this 1976 single by Marv Dennis, where novelty country’s knack for turning a small, vivid idea into a song takes center stage. Country has always made room for character, humor and storytelling alongside its more earnest tales; that playful streak gives this pairing its own place in the tradition. Issued by Mdp, Inc. as catalog number 312, the 7-inch brings the two titles together without asking them to share the same story. Dennis’s name anchors a release built around the lively possibilities of novelty country, a style that treats a song’s premise as part of the fun.
