Mary-Chapin Carpenter - Middle Ground / I Feel Lucky

Description
Country songs often find their footing between the personal and the universal, and Mary-Chapin Carpenter brings that balance to this 1990 single. “Middle Ground” and “I Feel Lucky” make an inviting pair of titles, with the first suggesting a place of negotiation and the second a bright turn toward possibility—without either needing to spell out its story before the needle drops. Carpenter is a singer-songwriter, and country’s long tradition of putting everyday feeling into clear, memorable songs gives this release a natural home. Issued by Columbia as 38-74345, it offers a small, neatly focused meeting point between reflection and good fortune.
