Mary-Chapin Carpenter - Slow Country Dance / Something Of A Dreamer

Description
Columbia’s 1989 single brings Mary-Chapin Carpenter into the rich tradition of country songwriting, where plainspoken detail and a strong sense of story can make a small moment linger. “Slow Country Dance” gives the release its name, while “Something Of A Dreamer” offers a second title to carry into that same storytelling landscape. Carpenter is a country singer-songwriter, and both titles point toward the genre’s enduring affection for character, feeling, and memorable phrases. Issued as Columbia 38-73361, this record belongs to a tradition that keeps intimate songs close to everyday life, finding room for reflection in the concise form of a country single.
