Massada - Arumbai / Air Mata Tumpa

Description
Massada’s 1979 single brings Latin rock and percussion rock into the compact, immediate world of pop. Its titles, “Arumbai” and “Air Mata Tumpa,” sit together as a pair, giving this release a clear place in the tradition of rhythm-led music where percussion is more than decoration: it helps carry the song’s momentum. Latin rock’s meeting of rock energy and Latin rhythmic language gives that approach a vivid context, while the single’s concise form keeps the focus on the music itself. Issued by Kendrick Records as KDR 2855 KS 45/2855, it preserves a particular moment in Massada’s recorded story and in pop’s embrace of percussion.
