Matraca Berg - Calico Plains / I Got It Bad

Description
Matraca Berg brings country-rock songwriting into focus on “Calico Plains,” with “I Got It Bad” completing this Rca 7-inch single, catalog number 2710-7-R. Country rock has long drawn its character from the meeting of sturdy songcraft and rock’s open-ended pulse, leaving room for a tune to carry both country-rooted feeling and a broader, driving shape. Berg is a songwriter, and that craft gives this pairing a natural point of interest: two distinct titles, held together by an artist’s hand in the songs themselves. The record offers a compact encounter with country rock’s enduring appeal, where strong writing sits at the heart of the tradition.
