Maxine Nightingale - Lead Me On / Love Me Like You Mean It

Description
“Lead Me On” gives this 1979 release its invitation, while “Love Me Like You Mean It” turns the thought toward a more direct plea. Both titles belong to Maxine Nightingale, a soul singer whose work sits comfortably in the music’s gift for making a personal story move with a dance-floor pulse. Soul and disco share a knack for joining heartfelt feeling to a steady groove, and that balance is part of what makes their meeting so enduring. Issued by Windsong as CB-11530, this single brings that tradition into focus through two distinctly phrased expressions of love: one asking to be led, the other asking for sincerity.
