Melanie - Running After Love / Holding Out

Description
Melanie has a way of bringing a songwriter’s directness into rock, where folk’s plainspoken storytelling can sit comfortably beside a fuller pop arrangement. On this 1978 single, “Running After Love” leads into “Holding Out,” giving the two titles a natural conversation without needing to spell out what either one means. The pairing belongs to a moment when folk rock and AOR shared a taste for songs built around clear melodies and personal expression. Issued by Tomato as TOM 10007 in the United States, the record places Melanie’s name at the center of that meeting between intimate songwriting and radio-minded rock.
