Merle Haggard - From Graceland To The Promised Land / Are You Lonesome Tonight

Description
“From Graceland To The Promised Land” meets “Are You Lonesome Tonight” on this 1977 single, bringing Merle Haggard’s country world into conversation with a song that has traveled through generations of popular music. Haggard was a country singer, and his presence gives the pairing a natural home in a tradition where a familiar melody can take on fresh meaning in a new voice. Released in the United States by Mca Records as MCA-40804, the single holds two distinct titles together without asking either to disappear into the other. The result is a small, striking meeting of country music and enduring songcraft.
