Michael Murphy - Wildfire / Night Thunder

Description
Country rock can carry both open-road ease and a touch of mystery, and Michael Murphy brings those qualities together on this 1975 single. “Wildfire” sets the scene first; “Night Thunder” offers a second title to linger over, letting the pair suggest the wide emotional range that country music can hold. Murphy is a singer-songwriter, and here that tradition meets the softer edge of rock without losing its roots in direct, memorable songs. Released in the United States on Epic, catalog number 8-50084, this record belongs to a moment when country and rock were finding common ground in uncluttered, song-led writing.
