Michael Parks - Long Lonesome Highway / Mountain High

Description
A little stage-and-screen drama goes a long way in pop rock. Michael Parks brings that crossover spirit to “Long Lonesome Highway” and “Mountain High,” titles that place this 7-inch single in the tradition of songs made to travel between performance and everyday listening. Pop rock has always been comfortable borrowing a theatrical sense of occasion, letting a song carry a story without losing its directness. Issued on Mgm Records as K-14104, this USA pressing offers a neat encounter with Parks in that setting. The appeal of stage-and-screen music lies in how readily it lets a wider world enter a compact song.
