More Hopeless Knowledge - Hunger Pains / Eye To Eye

Description
More Hopeless Knowledge opens with “Hunger Pains,” a title that sets a stark, restless mood before the music has even had its say. New wave took shape around a spirit of experiment, letting electronic textures meet the snap and immediacy of pop; that tension gives this 1982 release its place in the era’s shifting sound. On Warner Bros. Records, 7-29920, the record turns later to “Eye To Eye,” bringing the focus back to the directness suggested by its name. Made in the USA, this single belongs to a moment when electronic music was finding fresh ways to move through concise song form.
