Mr. Acker Bilk With The Leon Young Chorale - Cielito Lindo / Stranger On The Shore

Description
Two familiar melodies meet different moods on this single by Mr. Acker Bilk With The Leon Young Chorale. “Cielito Lindo” brings a traditional song into a setting shaped by the easy-listening world, where an old tune can feel at home in a new arrangement without losing its roots. Turn it over for “Stranger On The Shore,” a title closely associated with Bilk’s work as a jazz clarinetist. Together, the sides show how melody travels between folk tradition and popular jazz, carried by a clear tune and the pleasure of hearing it take shape anew. Issued by Atco Records as 45-6217.
