Nelson Ned - Basta De Tu Amor / Como Un Gitano

Description
On Ws Latino, Nelson Ned brings two songs together on the 1976 single WS-1059: “Basta De Tu Amor” and “Como Un Gitano.” A Brazilian pop singer, Ned works in a tradition where the ballad gives feeling room to unfold, while touches of funk and MPB add a supple rhythmic vocabulary. These styles meet naturally in Latin popular music, where melody and rhythm can carry equal weight without losing the intimacy of a song. The pairing offers a glimpse of Ned’s range through its contrasting titles, while keeping the focus on the voice at the heart of the record. Both songs are credited to Nelson Ned.
