Ohio Players - Love Rollercoaster / It's All Over

Description
“Love Rollercoaster” and “It’s All Over” bring two sides of Ohio Players’ 1975 funk-and-soul single together: one title suggests a headlong ride, the other a parting. The words alone don’t tell the story of either song, but that contrast gives this Mercury 7-inch, catalog number 73734, a memorable pairing. Ohio Players are a funk and soul group, and the record sits in a tradition where rhythmic drive and soul’s expressive vocabulary meet in popular song. In the mid-1970s, disco was also drawing on funk’s pulse, making this single a neat point of connection between those styles.
