Olivia Newton-John - Please Don't Keep Me Waiting / Deeper Than The Night

Description
There’s a lovely ease to late-’70s pop: polished enough for the radio, but still built around the intimate pull of a voice and a memorable song. Olivia Newton-John brings that balance to this 1978 single, pairing “Please Don't Keep Me Waiting” with “Deeper Than The Night.” Her work as a pop singer gives the record a natural centre, while the vocal style keeps the focus on melody and feeling rather than spectacle. Issued in the USA by Mca Records as MCA-41009, it belongs to a period when pop could be sleek and personal at once. These two titles make a neat pairing from that tradition.
