Paul Davis - Sweet Life / Bad Dream

Description
“Sweet Life” opens a little window onto the polished, song-first side of 1970s pop rock, where a strong melody could carry both warmth and a trace of unease. Paul Davis brings that same era’s gift for direct, memorable songwriting to “Bad Dream,” giving the pairing a pleasing turn from brightness toward shadow without needing to overstate the contrast. Released in 1977 on Bang Records as B-738, this American single sits in a tradition that prized concise songs and clear emotional hooks. Its two titles make an appealing contrast, and together they show how pop rock could hold light and tension in close company.
