Paul Robeson With Orchestra / Paul Robeson - Ol' Man River / My Curley-Headed Baby

Description
“Ol' Man River” and “My Curley-Headed Baby” bring two different shades of musical theatre together, joined by Paul Robeson’s unmistakable presence. On the first, Paul Robeson With Orchestra gives voice to a song that has become one of the great expressions of longing in the American stage tradition; the second, credited to Paul Robeson, turns to a more intimate theatrical song. Robeson was a singer and actor, and that meeting of song and drama makes this pairing especially compelling. This German 7-inch single, issued by Rca as 447-9142, keeps the focus on the enduring power of a performer carrying a story through song.
