Paula Abdul - Straight Up / Straight Up

Description
Virgin’s 1988 release brings Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up” into the bright, kinetic world of dance-pop, where a strong hook and a steady groove can turn a question into an invitation to move. Abdul is a pop singer, and this track captures the directness that makes a pop song so easy to carry with you: its title says exactly what it wants to know. The repeated appearance of “Straight Up” on both sides keeps the focus on the song itself, while catalog number 7-99256 places this USA pressing in its moment. Dance-pop thrives on immediacy, and Abdul’s single makes that feeling its calling card.
