Paula Abdul - The Promise Of A New Day / The Promise Of A New Day

Description
Virgin / Captive’s 7-98752 recording brings Paula Abdul’s “The Promise Of A New Day” into focus as a dance-pop single. Abdul is a singer and dancer, and the track’s title points toward the hopeful spirit often at the heart of pop: a fresh start held out as possibility. Dance-pop thrives on turning that kind of feeling into something immediate, pairing a clear central idea with the forward pull of a song made to move. The same title appears on both sides, keeping the record centered on one song rather than a collection of separate moments. Its promise is simple, but open-ended: tomorrow can still begin again.
