Percy Sledge - If This Is The Last Time / Behind Closed Doors

Description
Capricorn Records’ 1974 single finds Percy Sledge in the tender, plainspoken world of Southern soul. “If This Is The Last Time” and “Behind Closed Doors” place the titles side by side, each carrying the intimacy that makes soul so compelling: private feeling given room to speak. Sledge was a soul singer, and his presence suits this tradition of direct, emotionally open songs, where a voice can make a personal confession feel shared. The 7-inch, issued as CPS 0220 in the USA, belongs to a period when Southern soul kept its focus on human stories and the expressive power of the singer. These songs hold that closeness at their center.
