Raiders - Indian Reservation (The Lament Of The Cherokee Reservation Indian) / Birds Of A Feather

Description
Raiders bring two sharply contrasting titles together on this 1971 release: “Indian Reservation (The Lament Of The Cherokee Reservation Indian)” and “Birds Of A Feather.” The first title draws on a long tradition of popular songs using storytelling to address displacement and loss, while the second offers a compact, memorable phrase rooted in the familiar language of kinship. Pop rock has always made room for both the pointed narrative and the easy-to-grasp refrain, letting a single release hold different moods and ideas in close company. This United States 7-inch single appears on Columbia Hall Of Fame, catalog number 13-33200.
