Ray Charles - Makin' Whoopee / Makin' Whoopee

Description
“Makin’ Whoopee” is a song with a long life in popular music, its playful title carrying the familiar spark of an old standard. Ray Charles brings it into the world of soul, where a song can feel rooted in tradition yet open to a fresh, personal reading. Here, “Makin' Whoopee” appears on both sides, keeping the focus on this one enduring title. The single came out on Abc-Paramount as catalog number 10609. Charles was a singer and pianist, and that combination sits at the heart of his musical identity. The song’s continued place in popular repertoire is part of its story.
