Ray Griff - Waxahachie Woman / It's The First Day

Description
“Waxahachie Woman” opens Ray Griff’s 1972 country single with a title that feels rooted in the vivid, place-naming tradition of country songwriting. The other side, “It's The First Day,” offers a second doorway into the same release, while Griff’s work sits in the country-pop world, where country’s storytelling meets a polished popular-song sensibility. That balance has long helped country songs travel between intimate tales and broad, memorable hooks without losing their connection to everyday life. Issued in the USA by Royal American as RA 56, this record belongs to a period when country-pop was making that meeting point its own. The titles leave the stories ready to unfold.
