Rick James - She Blew My Mind (69 Times) / "Cold Blooded"

Description
Motown Yesteryear Series brings Rick James together on one 1982 single, pairing “She Blew My Mind (69 Times)” with “Cold Blooded.” James was a funk musician, and his work belongs to a tradition built on rhythm that keeps the groove in the foreground. Funk gives the bass and drums room to carry the music, while soul’s expressive touch and disco’s dance-floor pulse broaden the picture. Here, those traditions meet in a pairing that places two distinctly titled songs side by side, without needing a grand story to connect them. The release appears as Y-673F, issued in the United States in 1982—a compact slice of funk and soul from Rick James.
